Can you straighten african hair with only a flat iron?
There are two african girls from Liberia attending my church, and they were adopted by a caucasian family. They don't understand how to take care of african hair, and I wanted to help them out. I was wondering if I could straighten their hair without a relaxer. I can afford it, but they can't. Will a deep conditioner, followed by a blow dryer and flat iron straighten it?
yes it can, but it will not be silky straight & if their hair isn't use to it, when humidity hits it the hair will start reverting back and it will only last until they wash their hair. might i ask why they need their hair to be straightened? just let them wear their hair natural and wear natural styles you can go to www.motowngirl.com for more information on natural hair
